Best Anime Series on Netflix Right Now
If you’re a casual anime watcher and just wonder to see any anime, then you’ll find this list more unique and great and probably become anime fan after watching this series. We know it’s difficult to comb through the many anime series, especially if you’re a newcomer and want to invest your time in the perfect series. Anime has vast varieties of genres like Ecchi anime, mystery, supernatural, romance, action-adventure and there are many. So it can be mind-boggling to decide just where to start. So without wasting time, let’s dig into it.
1. Demon Slayer (Adventure and Dark fantasy)
Our first pick for this one is Demon Slayer (Kimetsu no Yaiba name in Japanese). It comparatively newer anime with a 26 episode in the first season. There is also a second season in the works. It follows the story of Tanjiro Kamado, a kind-hearted and intelligent boy who lives with his family. A tragic happens when he comes home one day and finds that his family has been attacked and slaughtered by a demon, okay not gonna tell the whole story. The story and animation of Demon slayer are absolutely breathtaking that’s the reason I’ve watched this anime 4 times. People who watched Demon Slayer eagerly waiting for it’s an upcoming movie and future seasons. Episodes: Season 1 – 26 Eps. IMDB Rating: 8.8 Watch On Netflix
2. Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood (Action and Adventure)
Full Metal Alchemist is a most popular anime ever made that the Elric brothers through a story of adventure, action-fantasy, and mystery. Overall, the series has a great storyline. Well-written dialogue, intense plot – it’s an incredible series I’d suggest watching. Full Metal Alchemist and Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood are two different anime series with the same storyline. However, Brotherhood created later and follows only original manga – more like it’s a resemble series and cutdown other parts and follows only manga story. I wouldn’t bother with the 2003 series unless you’re thirsty for more content. Episodes: 64 IMDB Rating: 8.5 Watch On Netflix
3. Death Note (Mystery and Thriller)
No mystery anime list is completed without Death note. I must say Death Note goes above and beyond our typical run-of-the-mill action-based anime. You might find this anime boring but people who love suspense, the mental challenge then I would definitely recommend it. The story follows an intelligent high-school student named Light Yagami who finds Death note which can kill anyone as long as the user knows both the target’s name and face. Give it try, if anyhow you watch 3-4 episodes then probably no one can stop you to finished it. Episodes: 37 IMDB Rating: 9.0 Watch On Netflix
4. Naruto and Naruto Shippuden (Fantasy and Adventure)
Naruto is great anime for all time, no anime list is completed without Naruto. It’s classic Martial Arts, fantasy with action and adventure elements series that follows the story of a young ninja who seeks recognition from his peers and dreams of becoming the Hokage(Leader). It follows a very complex, future planning story that rarely found in any anime these days. If you want to get into anime, start watching Naruto. It’s an old-gold anime that never gonna fade away. Although, to complete it you have watched 720 episodes but you can skip it’s filler episodes and focus on ongoing story, just head towards Naruto Shippuden Filler list and note down its non-canon episodes. Naruto Eps: 220 Eps Naruto Shippuden Eps: 500 Eps IMDB Rating: 8.3 Watch On Netflix
5. Violet Evergarden (Drama and romance)
Searching for Emotional but also touching storyline anime, this anime might be the best pick – I’m not crying. You’re crying! The plot of Violet Evergarden is quite different and that what makes it more beautiful. Usually, people love to watch the action, suspense, etc. but this series is nothing like that. The story follows young girl Violet Evergarden trying to figure out the emotion and Feelings that hold this world on her own.
“As human beings, we all mature physically from childhood to adolescence and then into adulthood, but our emotions lag behind.”
This is the most memorable quote that had gone through my mind while writing this. Since the first episode, I could see that this anime would be worth my time. Episodes: 13 IMDB Rating: 8.4 Watch On Netflix
6. My Hero Academia
This anime has a very different fan base. Well, this is one of the best anime series I have seen in many years after the Naruto series – It’s a pure gem. The story is so simple and straight forward while it does take time to build up the pace. It follows the story of Izuku Midoriya young boy who has no power (no quirk) but determined to enroll in a Hero academy to learn and follow the footsteps of his favorite superhero. This show starts slow but if you can just have a little patience and get to the 2nd or 3rd episode then you couldn’t stop yourself to watch the next episodes. It doesn’t matter you’re into anime or not, If you enjoy watching Superheroes show then you’re gonna love this show. Episodes: Season 1-4 – 88 Eps. IMDB Rating: 8.5 Watch On Netflix
7. Jo-Jo Bizarre Adventure (Adventure and Fantasy)
The title tells all story – The keyword in its title “Bizarre” is more than appropriate. This anime is quite possibly the most popular anime on the internet right now. Do you know, Jo-Jo Bizarre Adventure’s manga sold 100 million copies and making it one of the best-selling manga series. You’ll find this show most entertaining and weirdest anime’s out there with an emotional core to it. I feel this anime extremely underrated and didn’t get the attention they deserve which has inspired so many anime and mangas before. Episodes: 156 Eps. IMDB: 8.4 Watch On Netflix
8. Teasing Master Takagi-san (Romantic and Comedy)
‘Teasing Master Takagi-san’ is the most wholesome anime I’ve ever seen. The plot and idea of the series are very simple as It follows a simple story of a young boy who is constantly teased by a girl.
The girl’s name Takagi loves to tease him on a daily basis and predict exactly how he will react to her teasing, making it nearly impossible for the box to ever make a successful comeback.
This show is simple fun and It doesn’t matter what they are doing it’s just fun watching them interact with each other. If you like a slice of life and romance anime then this anime is pretty darn wholesome filled with cute characters.
Episodes: 24 Eps.
IMDB Rating: 7.6
9. Fire Force (Dark fantasy and Science fiction)
Fire Force is an excellent action-adventure anime series from David Production. This show is about a Special fire force company that features a group of firefighters with a special power, Pyrokinesis. It follows a really good upsetting story and many good action scenes. This is definitely going to be a good anime when finished. Fire Force is really worth to watch after Demon Slayer, though many people say it is boring but the anime is getting better and better. So far this anime features really good fights that are amazing and the story is just as good I would definitely recommend. Episodes: Seasons 1-2: 27 Eps IMDB Rating: 7.7 Watch On Netflix
10. Toradora (Romantic and Comedy)
The last anime in this list is Toradora, it follows the story of High school student Ryuji Takasu who is blessed with a nice personality but is cursed with his father’s evil looking face. On the other hand is Taiga Aisaka, a doll-like student who is anything but a cute and fragile girl. This anime takes you back to your own high school days because everything that they feel or say is very close to real life. Just maybe like you, I was bored and just searching for anything to watch and I came across Toradora If you have never watched such anime before then you need to start watching right now because you are missing out on something that is truly amazing.
